Shipping Dental Instruments to the UK

Balban Industries manufactures dental hand instruments in Sialkot, Pakistan, and exports them to professional buyers including clinics, schools, laboratories and distributors in the United Kingdom. This page explains how commercial terms, documents and importer responsibilities usually work when goods leave our factory for a UK destination.

Commercial terms (Incoterms)

Our standard working basis for many export enquiries is EXW Sialkot (Ex Works) — a widely used Incoterm under which the buyer (or their freight forwarder) arranges collection, international carriage, insurance and import clearance.

Other Incoterms can be discussed when the route, carrier and risk allocation need to differ. We confirm the exact Incoterm on each quotation rather than assuming FOB, CIF or similar terms by default. If your forwarder prefers a named port or airport handover, say so when you request a quote so we can align packing and paperwork.

On the quote: Incoterm, currency, packing method and document list are stated in writing before production or despatch. Nothing on this page replaces the commercial offer for your order.

Documents we typically supply

For UK-bound shipments we prepare the export commercial set that accompanies the goods. Depending on the order, this commonly includes:

  • Commercial invoice
  • Packing list
  • Copies of relevant quality certificates (for example CE and ISO certificate copies where applicable to the goods)
  • Any additional packing or identification detail agreed at quotation

Certificate copies support your due diligence; they are not a substitute for the importer’s own UK market obligations. Ask if you need documents in a particular format for your broker or warehouse.

Buyer and importer responsibilities

When goods are sold EXW Sialkot — or under another term that leaves import formalities with the buyer — the UK importer (or their appointed agent) is responsible for:

  • International freight booking and transit insurance as required
  • UK customs declaration, duties, VAT and any related charges
  • Choosing a freight forwarder or broker familiar with medical-device / instrument consignments
  • Conformity and placement of devices on the UK market under applicable UK rules

Balban manufactures in Sialkot under CE marking with quality systems certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016. We do not claim UKCA marking, MHRA registration or NHS supplier status on this website. UK buyers who need those pathways should take advice appropriate to their product classification and distribution model.

Lead times and transit

Production lead time depends on pattern mix, finishing, branding and factory load. Transit time from Pakistan to the UK depends on mode (air or sea), routing and the Incoterm you choose. We give qualitative timing on each quote — for example whether an order is a nearer-term stock-pattern run or a longer custom programme — rather than publishing fixed day counts that may not hold.

Plan sampling and first bulk orders with buffer for approval cycles, especially if packaging or logo work is involved. See also our OEM & private label page and the main UK dental instruments landing page.

How to start a shipment conversation

  1. List patterns or link products from the dental instruments category.
  2. State approximate quantities and preferred Incoterm if you already know it (otherwise we start from EXW Sialkot).
  3. Name your UK delivery city or warehouse and whether a forwarder is already appointed.
  4. Email info@balban.com or use Contact.
